
Griffin Bell Golf Course is a public 18-hole golf course owned and operated by Georgia Southwestern State University, formerly known as the Americus Country Club. This is a fun and challenging short course, that requires the player to hit every club in the bag and demands them to hit precise iron shots into small elevated greens.
The course is located right in between Andersonville and Plains, Georgia, the home of President Jimmy Carter. Griffin Bell Golf Course is a 45-minute drive north of Albany, 60-minute drive southeast on Hwy 280 from Columbus, a 70-minute drive southwest on HWY 49 and 26 from Warner Robins, and a 3-hour drive south on Hwy 19 from Atlanta.
Golf Course Superintendent: Brant Fletcher
Brant Fletcher is the golf course superintendent at Griffin Bell Golf Course. He is originally from Dublin, Tx (home of Ben Hogan) and moved to Moultrie, Ga in 1980. Where he graduated from Colquitt County High School. He is married to Kathy Fletcher and is raising a family of three kids. He graduated from Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College with an Associates in Golf Course Turf Management. He was previously the first Assistant Superintendent at Glen Arven Country Club. Prior to Glen Arven, he was the Second Assistant superintendent/ Spray Technician at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
